PACES Undergraduate Scholarship Program

The PACES (Promoting Access and Cultivating Educational Success) Undergraduate Scholarship Program, Tier 2, initiated by the Expert Novice Group, is a pioneering educational fund aimed at empowering the youth across Pakistan, starting with Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). This scholarship is tailored to support financially underprivileged but academically talented students who aspire to pursue undergraduate degrees but are constrained by economic barriers. The program is designed to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity, ensuring that the leaders of tomorrow have the foundation they need today.

Program Goals
  1. To democratize access to higher education for students from diverse backgrounds, especially those from financially challenged communities.
  2. To alleviate the financial burdens associated with higher education by providing significant financial aid to cover tuition, books, living expenses, and other academic necessities.
  3. To cultivate a generation of leaders by not only supporting their academic journey but also by providing opportunities for personal growth, leadership training, and professional development.
  4. While initially focusing on AJK, the program aims to extend its reach to other regions, embodying the spirit of unity and educational equality across Pakistan.
Program Features
  • Scholarship Award: Beneficiaries will receive a lump sum amount ranging from PKR 100,000 to PKR 400,000, directly disbursed to cover their educational costs.
  • Duration and Renewability: The scholarship will be awarded for one academic year at a time, with the possibility of renewal based on academic performance and continued financial need.
  • Mentorship and Support: Recipients will have access to a network of mentors and alumni, offering guidance, support, and resources to facilitate their academic and professional journey.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Applicants must either be citizens of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) or currently enrolled in universities or higher education colleges located in AJK.
  • Applicants who are citizens of AJK but studying anywhere in Pakistan must have completed at least their Matriculation (Matric) or O-Level studies in AJK.
  • Applicants must be enrolled as undergraduate students.
  • Applicants must not be in their last semester of study.
  • Applicants must be 24 years of age or younger at the time of application.
  • Applicants are required to submit their Resume, Purpose's Statement, current/most recent and previous academic transcripts along with their application.
Required Documents
1. Detailed CV/Resume (mendatory)
2. Motivational/Purpose's Statement (mendatory)A personal or motivational statement, not exceeding 700 words, detailing the applicant's educational background, goals, career aspirations, why PACES, how the scholarship will help them achieve their objectives, etc.
3. Academic Transcripts (mendatory)
All current or most recent semester results. FA/Fsc, Matric, e.t.c.
4. Student Identification (mendatory)
  • A valid student card. If a student card is not available, a letter from the head of the department or principal confirming the applicant's enrollment and good standing within their institution.
5. Experience Letters (optional)
  • Letters documenting any work experience, internships, volunteer work, or involvement in societies or clubs, e.t.c.
6. Scaned National Identification, or B-Foam, and/or Passport (mendatory)
Application Deadline and Timeline 
  • The deadline for submitting applications for the PACES Undergraduate Scholarship Program, Tier 2, is August 1. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications well in advance of the deadline to ensure that they are considered for the scholarship.
  • The initial round of online interviews for selected candidates will be conducted in mid-August.
  • Candidates who successfully pass the initial interview phase will be invited for final interviews, scheduled to take place between August 25 and August 30.
  • The results of the scholarship selection process will be announced in early September.

Step 1: Prepare Your Documents

  • Build a PDF for each Required Document: Create a separate PDF file for each of the following documents, ensuring each file is clear and legible:
    1. CV/Resume
    2. Motivational/Purpose's Statement
    3. Scanned CNIC/B-form/Passport
    4. Student Card
    5. All Transcripts and Result Cards (from most recent to oldest)
    6. Experience Letters


Step 2: Merge Your Documents

  • Merge All PDFs into One PDF File: Once you have all your documents prepared as separate PDFs, merge them into a single PDF file in the following sequence:
    1. CV/Resume
    2. Motivational/Personal Statement
    3. Scanned CNIC/B-form/Passport
    4. Student Card
    5. All Transcripts and Result Cards
    6. Experience Letters


Step 3: Submit Your Application

  • Send Us an Email: If you prefer, or if the online form is inaccessible, you can submit your application via email. Attach your merged PDF document to an email and send it to paces@xijir.com 
    • Email Subject: Make sure to use "PACES Scholarship Application" as the subject of your email to ensure that your application is properly sorted and recognized by the selection committee.
    • Email Signature: The email must contain a proper signature including your name, position, institution, and cell number. Without a signature, the application will not be considered.
